Sharing best Practice to Support Service Children
Undergraduate Research
Professionals working with Service children often tell us that they find it difficult to find and access relevant research material. SCSN aims to bring such work together, to facilitate the sharing of research into the lives and experiences of Service children, and to offer support to fellow researchers through a dedicated support group.
On the SCSN Research pages you will find examples of research that have been subdivided into 3 categories.
Firstly, we have included examples of research which has been carried out at Undergraduate and PGCE level. This is often very small-scale in nature and is usually carried out under the supervision of a member of Faculty staff.
In spite of the obvious limitations of small-scale research, we have included examples of this work on these pages as it helps to give a flavour of the type of projects currently being carried out in the UK.
Our second research category is Postgraduate research which includes Masters and PhD level research. Although this is also often small-scale in nature, it includes more focus on theory generation.
Our final research category, Third Sector Research, includes research funded by Sevice charities as well as Government research publications. We hope you find these examples useful when considering your own work.

Research Support Group
SCSN has set up a Research Support Group in order to assist fellow academics and professionals who are conducting research into Service childrens' experiences in the UK.
