Sharing best Practice to Support Service Children
SCSN provides training to education, health and welfare professionals who work with Service children and their families. Our larger events are open to attendees from all over the UK and we choose venues in different areas of the country to make our training accessible to all.
We can offer bespoke workshops or study days to suit the needs of smaller groups. We have delivered a number of very effective inset training days for individual schools and Governing bodies and have also worked with cluster groups of schools who have joined together to hold events.
"We find that relevant information is not readily available to us. For example, how can we support pupils whose parents have returned from active front-line service? Where can we signpost parents to if they need help? SCSN are filling this vacuum and providing invaluable advice and support."Head Teacher - Cornwall
"I had no idea that this is the experience of a Service child."

A typical SCSN training event will usually cover one or more of the main subject areas listed below but, as always, will be tailored to meet the needs of the trainees. Some groups have asked for a general session that gives an overview of the main issues affecting Service children, others have wanted us to provide a more focused event which deals with a specific issue in much greater depth.
